It is not permissible to single out the month of Rajab for standing in prayer, which is the Prayer of al-Raghā'ib, and clarification that it is a religious innovation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Well, regarding standing in prayer? The Night of al-Raghā'ib is the first Friday night of Rajab, on which they pray a prayer that reaches one thousand rak'ahs or something like that. Yes, and in my opinion, the one who prays one thousand rak'ahs in one night will pray it without tranquility, or not? And if he prays it without tranquility, is he considered to be praying? No. For this reason, when a man prayed in the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and came and greeted the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), he said to him:
go back and pray for indeed you have not prayed ارجع ارجع فصل فإنك لم تصل
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2692Sahih (Darussalam)
. He had prayed, standing, bowing, prostrating, sitting, and saying the closing salam. He said:
go back and pray for indeed you have not prayed. ارجع فصل فإنك لم تصل
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2692Sahih (Darussalam)
. Why did he deny that he had prayed? Because he had not been tranquil, because he had not been tranquil in it. This prayer is a religious innovation. It is not permissible for a person to worship Allah with it, except that he follows the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
Every innovation كل بدعة
What is it?
and every going astray is in the Fire ضلالة كل ضلالة في النار
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1578Sahih (Darussalam)
. Is there among us anyone who loves to follow a path of misguidance? Yes? No, by Allah. We all say in the prayer: O Allah, guide me among those You have guided. O Allah, forgive me and have mercy on me and guide me. Well, does every person want to make himself in the position of the Messenger, legislating what he wishes and leaving what he wishes? Never. We are slaves of Allah, following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not single out Rajab for, neither by fasting nor by prayer nor by 'Umrah. Many people, or rather some of the many of them.
