The meaning of his statement: "Then Adam was in it, so he said, 'This is your father, Adam...'"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Adam (peace be upon him) testified to his prophethood. He said:
You are welcomed, O pious son and pious Prophet.
Sahih al-Bukhari 3887
And he said, "Welcome," after returning the greeting. He returned the greeting and said, "Welcome." So, welcoming a person is only done after returning the greeting. With many people today, if you greet them, they welcome you without returning the greeting. Are you with us? How do they say it when I say, "Peace be upon you"? "Welcome." Sometimes they fill their mouths with it until it becomes bigger than a mountain, "Welcome," but they do not say, "Peace be upon you." Or if I greet them, they say, "Welcome, so-and-so's father." This is not sufficient, and the one who returns the greeting in this way is sinful, because he has disobeyed Allah (Mighty and Majestic). What did Allah say?
And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than it or [at least] return it
[An-Nisa 4:86]
I greeted you and said, "Peace be upon you," and this is a supplication for his safety: safety from sins, safety from disobedience, safety from calamities, safety of the heart, safety of the body, safety of the religion, and safety of the worldly life. It is a supplication full of peace. "Peace be upon you." And what did he say to me? He said, "Welcome." What did I benefit? I did not benefit anything. So, did he greet me with the same as I greeted him with? No, not with the same, nor with something better. So he is a sinner against the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than it or [at least] return it
[An-Nisa 4:86]
Now, how is the correct return of the greeting? He says, "Peace be upon you," just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned the greeting to the man who came and entered the mosque and prayed without tranquility, then came and greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:
Peace be upon you عليك السّلام
And if he says, "Peace be upon you all," there is no harm. Either out of respect for this Muslim, because the letter "mim" indicates plurality and respect, or as a sign that he returned the greeting to him and to the angels with him. But "Peace be upon you" has no problem and no interpretation. "Peace be upon you." Now, some people use the telephone, and using the telephone is like asking permission at the door. The one being called picks up the receiver, and what does he say? Who says "Hello", the caller or the one being called?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : All of them? Now, the caller says "Hello" "Hello". What is this? What does it mean?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : What does it mean in English?
The student: Welcome

The Shaykh : In any case, "Hello" is not a religious greeting. The caller, when he picks up the receiver and calls, should say, "Peace be upon you." How much reward is given for this word? Ten good deeds. If it were said to every caller who calls his brother, "If you say 'Peace be upon you,' I will give you one riyal," would he forget to say "Peace be upon you" when calling? He would not forget, but he is given ten good deeds that remain for him in the Hereafter. So he says, "Peace be upon you," and the one being called says, "Peace be upon you." This is what is prescribed.
Now, here it is said that Adam returned the greeting to the Messenger (peace be upon him) and said:
You are welcomed, O pious son and pious Prophet.
Sahih al-Bukhari 3887
So he testified to his righteousness and testified to his prophethood, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him. Now, here are people who greet with a greeting more strange than "Hello," "Welcome," "Hello," and the like. They greet with the horn of the car. If they meet you, they honk the horn. The problem is that the one being greeted may be in a car, so he can return the greeting with the same, by honking the horn. But if the one being greeted is walking in the market on foot, what does he return? This is also a mistake. But if the car owner wants to honk the horn to make the other person notice him and then greet him, there is no harm. But if he limits himself to honking the horn and drives away, this is not the way of the Muslims.
The reciter:
Then he ascended with me until he reached the second heaven. He asked to be admitted, and it was said, "Who is this?" He said, "Jibril." It was said, "And who is with you?" He said, "Muhammad." It was said, "Has he been sent?" He said, "Yes." It was said, "Welcome to him, and what a good arrival he has made." So it was opened. When he entered, there were Yahya and Isa, and they were maternal cousins. He said, "This is Yahya and this is Isa. Greet them." So I greeted them, and they returned the greeting. Then they said, "Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet." Then he ascended with me to the third heaven...
