The meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Indeed, We created man from a mixed drop, and We test him, so We made him hearing and seeing).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) explained the beginning of this creation, saying:
Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. إنا خلقنا الإنسان من نطفة أمشاج نبتليه فجعلناه سميعاً بصيراً
[Al-Insan 76:2]
The nutfah is the small amount of water, and what is meant by it here is the man's semen. The amshaj, as the later scholars said, are the sperm cells. This nutfah contains a very large number of sperm cells. The meaning of His saying
We test him نبتليه
is that We test him, and that is by creating hearing and sight for him. For this reason He said:
and We made him hearing and seeing. فجعلناه سميعاً بصيراً
[Al-Insan 76:2]
This is a test from Allah, in which He tests the servant as to what he uses this hearing for, or with what he uses this hearing, and with what he uses this sight.
