The Shaykh : And the followers with excellence.
The student: And the followers with excellence until the Day of Judgment, and may peace be upon him abundantly. As for what follows, the Book of 'Umdat al-Ahkam, the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Chapter on Riba and Currency Exchange from the Book of Sales. The first hadith: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Gold for gold is riba (usury or interest) unless it is equal in amount, and silver for silver is riba (usury or interest) unless it is equal in amount, and wheat for wheat is riba (usury or interest) unless it is equal in amount, and barley for barley is riba (usury or interest) unless it is equal in amount. الذهب بالذهب ربا إلا هاء وهاء والفضة بالفضة رباً إلا هاء وهاء والبر بالبر رباً إلا هاء وهاء والشعير بالشعير رباً إلا هاء وهاء
