Principle: Worship is not valid unless the worship conforms to the Shari'ah in

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So I say, it is known that a condition for the validity and acceptance of worship is that it be sincere for Allah and conform to the Shari'ah of Allah. Worship cannot conform to the Shari'ah unless it conforms to the Shari'ah in six matters. The first is in the cause of the worship, the second is in its type, the third is in its amount, the fourth is in its manner, the fifth is in its time, and the sixth is in its place. If an act does not conform to the Shari'ah in these six matters and the person intends it as worship, then it is a bid'ah (religious innovation) that is rejected and returned to its doer, by the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion.
[Al-Bayyinah 98:5]
and by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected. من عمل عملا ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
I return to repeat the six matters in which an act must conform to the Shari'ah: the cause, the type, the amount, the manner, the time, and the place. If an act does not conform to the Shari'ah in these six matters and is intended to draw near to Allah, then it is a bid'ah (religious innovation) that is rejected and returned to its doer. And the student clarifies for us the six matters. Yes, that is right.
The student: ... the worship in its place, its amount, its manner, and the time

The Shaykh : The rest of the unit.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Its type. Good, its type. Well done, rest.
