Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, he says:The questioner : What is the ruling in Islam regarding a man who brought his wife for 'Umrah and rented accommodation consisting of two rooms, where men and women sit together in a state of free mixing, even during sleep and in the restroom, and each man and his wife place a cloth curtain

The Shaykh : and his wife, so the result is that each man and his wife

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : Yes, he

The questioner : and each man and his wife place a cloth curtain between the other man and his wife in the same room. And if we stay in this condition to catch the Hajj, will we be sinful for this free mixing, knowing that I do not have the money to perform Hajj with my wife in any other way? Please issue a ruling for us, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : I say that this accommodation in this manner is undoubtedly either forbidden or disliked, because the gathering of these groups with their women in one room involves improper conduct, and placing a curtain between each person and the others does not suffice for that. Therefore, I advise this brother to do one of two things: either return to his country, and if Hajj becomes easy for him in this year or in coming years, let him do it; and if it does not become easy, then Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. Or, he should leave these rooms and rent other rooms where he and his family are alone. As for people remaining like this with their wives, this is an error. Yes, there is a third option: to have the women in a room by themselves and the men in a room by themselves, so that no one mixes with anyone. Yes.
