The rational proofs for affirming the exaltation of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The rational proofs upon which all people of intellect agree, even non-Muslims. We ask: Is exaltation an attribute of perfection or an attribute of deficiency?
The student: Perfection.

The Shaykh : Yes, it is an attribute of perfection by consensus. The Exalted is not like the one who descends, nor like the lowly. The Exalted has a high station. For this reason, great meanings are described with exaltation. Thus, by the consensus of people of intellect, exaltation is an attribute of perfection. If you negate exaltation from Allah, it means you have stripped Him of an attribute of perfection. And if the attribute of perfection is negated, what follows? The attribute of deficiency.
Accordingly, reason has indicated the exaltation of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). The point is that exaltation is an attribute of perfection, and every attribute of perfection belongs to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) in its most perfect form. The evidence for this is the saying of the Exalted:
and for Allah is the highest attribute ولله المثل الأعلى
[An-Nahl 16:60]
And what does "the best of descriptions" mean? It means: the most perfect description.
- Pay attention, O person of intellect -.
Has reason now indicated the exaltation of Allah or not?
The student: It has indicated it.

The Shaykh : It has indicated it.
