Directing the famous supplication "O Allah, by Your mercy I seek help" and clarifying that it does not contain a supplication for the attribute of "mercy"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, someone might raise a point and say, "Has it not been established in the famous supplication
O Allah, by Your mercy I seek help. اللهم برحمتك أستغيث
You seek the help of your Lord تستغيثون ربكم
, but rather he said, "by Your mercy," meaning, "Because You are the Merciful, the One possessing mercy, I ask You to help me." So the supplication here is not a supplication for mercy, but rather it is tawassul to Allah the Exalted by His mercy that He should help you. Pay attention to this.
