The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17923 )
Q 1: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 38:28 the hadith. What is meant by the mercy that Allah created? Is it the attribute—Glorified and Exalted is He from that—or is it a created mercy by which the community was distinguished, while the attribute of Allah is other than that?
A 2: The mercy mentioned in the hadith is a created mercy. Allah created a hundred mercies, of which He sent down one by which creation shows mercy to one another, and He kept ninety-nine with Him for the Day of Resurrection. This mercy is not the attribute of mercy of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), for the attributes of Allah are not created; rather, they are from the attributes of His Self (Glorified is He), and He (Glorified is He) is, by His attributes, a Creator, not a creation.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
