Is wudu, praying two rak'ahs, and seeking forgiveness required for repentance, or is seeking forgiveness alone sufficient?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. This last one says: If a servant commits a sin and wants to repent from the sin, is it obligatory for him to perform wudu, pray two rak'ahs, seek Allah's forgiveness, and repent, or does he seek Allah's forgiveness and repent by speech only?

The Shaykh : The second option is sufficient, meaning he repents from the sin without praying. However, if he performs wudu and prays two rak'ahs, that is among the causes for the acceptance of repentance and among the causes for forgiveness, based on the hadith of Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he performed wudu and then said:
I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) perform wudu like my wudu, and then he said: Whoever performs wudu like my wudu, then prays two rak'ahs without letting his mind wander in them, Allah will forgive him his previous sins.
.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. This questioner, I do not know whether to read it to him with his errors and mistakes.

The Shaykh : Read it to him with his errors and mistakes, but do not make grammatical errors.
