A man appointed his sons to pay his zakat al-fitr, and he went to another country for work. Is it permissible, or should he pay it himself in that country?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A man who has a job in another place, in Ramadan, wanted to pay the zakat al-fitr for himself and his sons, so he appointed his sons to pay it for him, and he went to another country for a security job.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Is this appointment permissible?

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with it; that is, it is permissible for a man to appoint his children to pay his zakat al-fitr at its proper time, even if he is in another country for work at that time.

The questioner : If he paid the zakat on behalf of his sons.

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : If he was delayed in his work during the days of Ramadan and paid the zakat from his location before it reached his sons?

The Shaykh : Did he pay it at its proper time, or before its proper time?

The questioner : At its proper time.

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with it.

The questioner : But he is far away from his sons, meaning.

The Shaykh : There is no obstacle, because zakat al-fitr is paid in the place where you are when the end of Ramadan arrives, even if it is far from your home country.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you.
