What is your advice for the youth who have committed themselves to the religion and wish to engage in da'wah, but are faced with the refusal of the authorities to grant them permission to preach and teach, causing them to fall into apostasy?

The questioner : Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

The Shaykh : Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.

The questioner : Your Eminence, we find that some of the youth, whom Allah has blessed with guidance and who have held firmly to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), have a strong drive for da'wah and excessive enthusiasm.
If they were to face a trial one day, whether by being prevented from delivering a word or a sermon, or being stopped by certain competent authorities.
We find that they are struck with despair, and some of them fall back from their commitment, may Allah protect us from that. Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good, in this matter?

The Shaykh : I did not understand the point of the question?

The questioner : What is your advice, I mean.

The Shaykh : My advice is.

The questioner : Or the reasons.

The Shaykh : I say: Completing one's commitment includes obeying the authority in matters other than sin, because we do not obey our authorities because they are from such-and-such family or such-and-such family; we obey them because Allah has commanded us to do so. He said:
O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you
[An-Nisa 4:59]
And we believe that our obedience to them in matters other than sin is obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
It is said to these committed people: Nothing is required of you; obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and obey those in authority among you. This is part of obeying Allah, as long as they have not ordered you to drink intoxicants or to do anything that is forbidden. Obey them.

The questioner : If a trial befalls one of them, you will find that he falls into apostasy, and this happens often.

The Shaykh : This is a problem that Allah referred to in the Qur'an:
And of the people is he who worships Allah on an edge
[Al-Hajj 22:11]
on the edge
If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it; but if he is struck by trial, he turns on his face
[Al-Hajj 22:11]
I seek refuge in Allah
He has lost [this] world and the Hereafter. That is what is the manifest loss.
[Al-Hajj 22:11]
We say: My brother, fear Allah. As long as you know that obeying the authority and being prevented from speaking is obedience to the religion of Allah, then you are on the right path.
'Amir ibn Yasir used to issue the ruling that a person in a state of major ritual impurity should perform dry ablution with clean earth if he does not find water, while 'Umar ibn al-Khattab did not hold that view, saying: The person in a state of major ritual impurity remains until he finds water, performs the full ritual bath, and prays.
So 'Amir ibn Yasir used to narrate that a person in a state of major ritual impurity should perform dry ablution with clean earth, because the matter happened to him:
When the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him and 'Umar on a mission, 'Amir became in a state of major ritual impurity. He rolled in the dust as a beast rolls, then he informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of that, and he said to him: It would have been sufficient for you to say with your hand like this, and he struck the ground with his hand and wiped his face and his hands.
When 'Umar heard that he was narrating this hadith, he brought him and said: What is this? He said: O Commander of the Faithful, do you not remember when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me and you on a mission and such-and-such happened? But O Commander of the Faithful, if you wish, by the obedience Allah has placed for you over me, that I not narrate it, I will do so.
It is a hadith he narrates from the Messenger, saying:
If you wish that I not narrate it, I will do so. 'Umar said: We will not appoint you to what you are appointed to.
meaning, and he narrated it.
The truly committed person must commit to all matters of the religion, not just a specific thing. If he is told: Do not speak, he says: Praise be to Allah, the sin is upon you. I will not speak; the sin is upon you. Speaking is a collective obligation, and there are those who can fulfill it. It does not mean that the matter depends on this specific man, that the Shari'ah will not be conveyed except by him. There are people, so if.
He reassures himself with this matter and complies and does not rebel, perhaps a day will come when he is permitted to speak. Allah will open the hearts of other people, and they will say: Why did you prevent this man? Let him speak and grant him permission.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
