Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [“Then it is but one cry”] to His saying: [“Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed.”]

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment:
As for what follows: This is the second meeting in this month, the month of Jumada al-Akhirah, in the year 1413, on Thursday, the ninth of this month.
We begin in this meeting with what we have reached in the exegesis of Surat al-Naziat:
Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said, in explaining the Resurrection:
(13) Indeed, it will be but one shout, (14) And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.
[An-Nazi'at 79:13-14]
: A cry from Allah Mighty and Majestic; they are driven and shouted at, and they rise from their graves as if a single man were standing on the surface of the earth, after having been in its depths. Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:
It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us.
[Ya-Sin 36:53]
: All of creation, with this single word, they come out of their graves alive, then they are brought before Allah Mighty and Majestic to be recompensed. For this reason He said:
(13) Indeed, it will be but one shout, (14) And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.
[An-Nazi'at 79:13-14]
This is like His saying:
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye.
[Al-Qamar 54:50]
meaning: The command of Allah, when He wills something to be, is only once, “Be,” and this does not lag behind the word of Allah for a moment:
but one, like a glance of the eye.
[Al-Qamar 54:50]
, and nothing is too difficult for Allah Mighty and Majestic. If all of creation rise from their graves for Allah Mighty and Majestic with a single word, this is the clearest proof that Allah the Exalted is All-Powerful over everything, and that nothing is too difficult for Allah in the heavens or on the earth, as He the Exalted said:
But Allah is not to be caused failure by anything in the heavens or on the earth. Indeed, He is ever Knowing and Competent.
[Fatir 35:44]
.
(13) Indeed, it will be but one shout, (14) And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.
[An-Nazi'at 79:13-14]
.
Then He the Exalted said, explaining what happened to the nations before Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
And let it be known that the stories of Allah Mighty and Majestic told to us about the previous nations have many benefits and great lessons, as He the Exalted said:
There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding
[Yusuf 12:111]
Among these is:
Consoling the Messenger (may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) regarding the harm he suffered from his people, both verbal and physical. So it is as if Allah is saying to him: The messengers before you were harmed:
And certainly were messengers denied before you, but they were patient over [the effects of] denial, and they were harmed until Our victory came to them. And none can alter the words of Allah. And there has certainly come to you some information about the [previous] messengers.
[Al-An'am 6:34]
.
And among these is: That they contain a threat to those who deny the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that they will be afflicted with what afflicted the previous nations of punishment and disgrace. Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:
Have they not traveled through the land and seen how was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed [everything] over them, and for the disbelievers is something comparable.
[Muhammad 47:10]
.
The lessons in the stories of the prophets are many. Allah the Exalted said:
Has there come to you the story of Musa
The address in His saying:
Has there come to you هَلْ أَتَاكَ
is to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or to anyone to whom the address can be directed and it is valid to direct the address to them. On the first meaning: Has there come to you, O Muhammad.
And on the second meaning: Has there come to you, O human being, the story of Musa, who is the son of Imran (peace and blessings be upon him), the best of the prophets of the Children of Israel, and he is one of the five resolute prophets, who are: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Nuh. And these five, whom I mean, were mentioned in the Qur'an in two places. One of them is in al-Ahzab, in His saying:
And [mention, O Muhammad], when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary
[Al-Ahzab 33:7]
.
And the second is in His saying:
He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus
[Ash-Shuraa 42:13]
the son of Maryam.
And the story of Musa (peace and blessings be upon him) was mentioned in the Qur'an more than that of any other, because Musa is the prophet of the Jews, and they were numerous in Madinah and around it during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). So the stories of Musa were the most narrated to us of the news of the prophets, and the most comprehensive and extensive.
And in His saying:
Have the story of Moses come to you?
: There is an incitement for the listener to listen to what happened in this story.
When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,
[An-Nazi'at 79:16]
: Allah Mighty and Majestic called him with a call he heard with the voice of Allah Mighty and Majestic. Allah the Exalted said:
And We called him from the side of the mount at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him].
[Maryam 19:52]
.
(16) When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (17) "Go to Pharaoh إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوىً * اذْهَبْ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ
[An-Nazi'at 79:16-17]
: Pharaoh was the king of Egypt, and he used to say to his people: That he is their supreme Lord, and that there is no god other than him. He said:
O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me
[Al-Qasas 28:38]
So he claimed what was not his and denied the right of another, who is Allah Mighty and Majestic.
And His saying:
at the sacred valley بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ
is: The Mount, and the valley is: The course of the water, and Allah named it sacred because the revelation to Musa (peace and blessings be upon him) was in it.
And His saying:
Tuwa
is a name for the valley.
Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed. Then say, "Do you wish to purify yourself?"
.
The rest of the story will come, if Allah wills, because the time today was short, so we limit ourselves to this in order to receive questions from the brothers present. It is decided that each person has one question, so that the questioning goes around all the present, and then returns to him a second time.
