Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Has there come to you the story of Musa)]
Then He the Exalted said, explaining what happened to the nations before Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
And it should be known that what Allah the Mighty and Majestic has related to us of the news of the previous nations has many benefits and great lessons,As Allah the Exalted said:
There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding
[Yusuf:111] Among these is the consolation of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the harm, both verbal and physical, that he suffered from his people,So it is as if Allah is saying to him: Indeed, the messengers before you were harmed
And certainly were messengers denied before you, but they were patient over [the effects of] denial, and they were harmed until Our victory came to them. And none can alter the words of Allah. And there has certainly come to you some information about the [previous] messengers.
[Al-An'am:34] And among these is: that it contains a warning to those who denied the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that they will be afflicted with what afflicted the previous nations of punishment and disgrace,Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
Have they not traveled through the land and seen how was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed [everything] over them, and for the disbelievers is something comparable.
[Muhammad:10] .
The lessons in the stories of the prophets are many,Allah the Exalted said:
Has there come to you the story of Musa
[An-Nazi'at:15] and the address in His saying:
Has there come to youهَلْ أَتَاكَ
[An-Nazi'at:15] is to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or to everyone to whom the address can be directed and it is valid to direct the address to them,And it would be on the first meaning: Has there come to you, O Muhammad! And on the second meaning: Has there come to you, O human being! The story of Musa, the son of Imran (peace be upon him), the most excellent of the prophets of the Children of Israel, and he is one of the five resolute prophets, who are Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Nuh. They were mentioned in the Qur'an in two places, one of which is in Al-Ahzab,And it is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And [mention, O Muhammad], when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Maryوَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنْكَ وَمِنْ نُوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ
[Al-Ahzab:7] and the second is in Ash-Shura: and it is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesusشَرَعَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّى بِهِ نُوحاً وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى
[Ash-Shura:13] .
And the story of Musa (peace be upon him) is mentioned in the Qur'an more than that of any other; because Musa (peace be upon him) is the prophet of the Jews, and they were numerous in Madinah and its surroundings during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the news of Musa was the most of the news of the prophets related to us, and the most comprehensive and extensive,And in His saying:
Has there come to you the story of Musa
[An-Nazi'at:15] to encourage the listener to listen to what happened in this story.
