Warning Against the Authenticity of the Story of the Spider Web Spun Over the Cave

The Shaykh : On this occasion, I would like to point out that some books state that a spider spun a web over the entrance of the cave. This is not authentic. There was no spider web, and there was no dove on a tree at the entrance of the cave. Rather, it was the protection of Allah. Therefore, Abu Bakr said: Are there any people standing at the cave right now? If one of them had looked at his feet, he would have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr. But Allah blinded their eyes, so they did not see anyone in this cave and they turned away from it.
