Explanation of the Book of Ablution, the Full Ritual Bath, Menstruation, and Dry Ablution-02a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us, saying: Abu Asimah narrated to us from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Aishah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
You are allowed to go out to answer the call of nature. قد أذن أن تخرجن في حاجتكن
Sahih al-Bukhari 147
, Hisham said: He meant relieving oneself.

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), latrines were not built, and they would go outside the town to relieve themselves, choosing the low-lying places known as al-gha'it (the place of relief). For this reason, the act of relieving oneself was named after these places. Sometimes they would go to a spacious, open, and visible place, as in this hadith.
And 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), due to his intensity and his eagerness to avoid fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), used to say to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): "Veil your women", meaning that they should not go out, in order to protect the bed of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and to honor and revere him. However, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not wish to impose a restriction on his wives with a command that Allah had not given him, so he did not do so until Allah revealed the verse of the hijab. It was as if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do what 'Umar asked, not because he was not convinced by 'Umar's words, but because the hijab involved a restriction on the women, so he preferred that the command come from the King of Kings (Exalted and Majestic is He). So he waited until Allah revealed the verse of the hijab.
As for 'Umar's statement: "We have come to know you, O Sawdah", one might say that this contains a type of bad manners. However, actions are judged by intentions. He did not intend to be rude to Sawdah or to the husband of Sawdah (peace and blessings be upon him), but he intended to clarify the urgency of the need for the hijab, and that people knew the wives of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). When the matter became severe, Allah the Exalted revealed the verse of the hijab.
And this incident is one of hundreds of incidents that point to the verification of the authentic hadith
And know that victory is with patience, and that relief is with distress, and that with hardship there is ease. واعلم أن النصر مع الصبر وأن الفرج مع الكرب وأن مع العسر يسرا
. So whenever things become difficult for you, wait for relief from the One in whose hand is the difficulty, the Exalted, for He will bring you relief, and with hardship there is ease.
