Some people deny the phrase "I met you by chance."?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some people, if you tell them you met them by chance, get angry at us...?

The Shaykh : He gets angry at you, why? Is it severe anger or mild?

The questioner : Some are severe and some are mild.

The Shaykh : And the third, bring up the third one who does not get angry.

The questioner : Some do not get angry?

The Shaykh : The correct view is with the one who does not get angry, because chance encounters between people do happen. Allah the Exalted said:
If you had made an appointment [to meet], you would have missed the appointment. ولو تواعدتم لاختلفتم في الميعاد
[Al-Anfal 8:42]
Allah brought him together with his enemy without any prior appointment. As for the actions of Allah, it is not permissible [to attribute chance to Him], because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) knows a thing before it happens, and He knows how it happened, where it happens, and when it happens. Did you understand?
Perhaps those who got angry thought that by "chance" you meant something related to the actions of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). As for saying "So-and-so met me by chance" or "I met so-and-so by chance," even this is found in the hadiths, such as "We met the Messenger of Allah" or "We encountered the Messenger of Allah," and there is nothing wrong with it.
