Explanation of the Book of Prayer and Its Times-08a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abdullah ibn Yusuf narrated to us, saying: Malik informed us from Abu al-Nadr, the freed slave of 'Umar ibn 'Ubayd Allah, from Busr ibn Sa'id:
That Zayd ibn Khalid sent him to Abu Juhaym to ask him what he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the one who passes in front of the one praying? Abu Juhaym said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If the one who passes in front of the one praying knew what is upon him, it would be better for him to stand for forty [days] than to pass in front of him."
. Abu al-Nadr said: I do not know if he said forty days, or a month, or a year.

The Shaykh : But it came in al-Bazzar:
Forty autumns. أربعين خريفا
meaning a year.
And his saying:
What is upon him ماذا عليه
also did not clarify what this is that is upon him, but it came in a narration:
the magnitude of his sin ماذا عليه من الإثم
Bulugh al-Maram 2:94
and this is an explicit text that the one who passes in front of the one praying sins, and its apparent meaning is whether he has a sutrah or not, as long as he has passed in front of him. And "in front of him" we mentioned earlier: we said that some scholars estimated it as three cubits from his feet, and some estimated it as the extent of his prostration, and that is the most correct.
