The Shaykh :"And likewise the ascent of angels who have been entrusted *** With our deeds, and they are two groups"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) alluded to this in his saying:Sahih al-Bukhari 7486
"So to Him they ascend in the morning and evening *** And the dawn gathers them upon the Qur'an"
"So that they may testify ***" For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Isra 17:78] The angels of the night and the angels of the day gather in the Fajr prayer, then the angels of the night ascend, and the angels of the day remain. For this reason, he said:
"So that they may testify and ascend to Him with the *** deeds, Glory to the One of the Great Status"
This is part of the greatness of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that these angels entrusted with the protection of the children of Adam succeed one another in their presence in an orderly manner at the Fajr prayer and at the 'Asr prayer. Therefore, a person should be mindful of this; he should be mindful while praying Fajr that the angels entrusted with the protection of the children of Adam are gathered in this prayer, and likewise at the 'Asr prayer. But, by Allah, we are often heedless, and these two prayers pass us by as if they were the other prayers. This is a matter caused by heedlessness—heedlessness of these great matters. Otherwise, if you were mindful of this, you would find that these two prayers have a great status that you do not find in the others. If you were mindful while praying Fajr that the angels are now the angels of the night and the angels of the day, witnessing with you in this prayer, it is a great matter. And likewise in 'Asr.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) alluded to this in his saying:
There are angels coming to you in succession at night, and others during the day
يتعاقب فيكم ملائكة بالليل وملائكة بالنهار"So to Him they ascend in the morning and evening *** And the dawn gathers them upon the Qur'an"
"So that they may testify ***" For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.
إن قرآن الفجر كان مشهودا"So that they may testify and ascend to Him with the *** deeds, Glory to the One of the Great Status"
