Explanation of Ibn al-Qayyim's Alfiyyah-18a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And indeed, the negation of what did not occur came *** so that it would not cross the mind of a person"
This means that the negation of something that did not occur came, meaning it is impossible and no one has ever said it, such as when it is said:
"So look at the negation of taste ***" He said:
while it is He who feeds and is not fed
[Al-An'am 6:14]

"And *** it was never attributed to Him by any human being"
This means that no one among people has said that Allah eats, and yet He said:
who feeds and is not fed
[Al-An'am 6:14]
This is the first section we mentioned a little while ago.
"And likewise, the negation of death, and of *** sleep, and of a habit, and of visiting"
All of this is negated from Him, Mighty and Majestic.
"And likewise, the negation of His forgetting ***" He said:
My Lord neither errs nor forgets."
[Taha 20:52]

"*** and the Lord was never attributed to forgetting" This means that no one among people has said that He forgets, and yet He negated it from Himself.
"And likewise, the negation of injustice ***" He said:
And your Lord does injustice to no one.
[Al-Kahf 18:49]

"And in His *** actions, of futility and of invalidity"
And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them
[Al-Hijr 15:85]
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.
[Ad-Dukhan 44:38]

"And likewise, the negation of fatigue ***"
and there touched Us no weariness.
[Qaf 50:38]

"And of *** inability"

And it is not possible for Allah to be unable to do anything in the heavens or on the earth. *** And of inability that contradicts the power of the Most Merciful. Now, so Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, negated from Himself in these verses what was said and what was not said. Yes. Now, we have a version regarding what did not occur, other than what? Regarding what was not said, this must be the correct one. Here you are with us, everyone, are you with me? The last verse, this is about the power of the Most Merciful. Count one, two, three, four, five, six, from the top. From the top, "And indeed," the negation of what was not said ***. The version I have is "of what did not occur ***". The version I have is "of what did not occur ***" with the letter meem, and the correct one is "of what was not said" with the letter lam. Now, so what has passed through us now is two sections: a section that was said, so Allah negated it, like the student: ... The Shaykh: The boy, the boy, yes. The Jews said that 'Uzair is the son of Allah, and the Christians said that the Messiah is the son of Allah, so Allah negated it. What was not said, like taste, death, injustice, forgetting, and the like, Allah negated it from Himself. There is something that was said, but it was said by individuals.
