Regarding the repentant person, is it obligatory for him to perform the tashahhud and the ghusl to enter the religion of Allah anew?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the repentant person, is it obligatory for him to perform the tashahhud and the ghusl to enter the religion of Allah anew?

The Shaykh : As for the one who repents from disbelief.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : He must perform the ghusl, either as an obligation according to the opinion of many scholars, or as a recommendation according to the opinion of others.
As for the one who repents from a sin less than disbelief, it is not prescribed for him to perform the ghusl, because he did not leave Islam. Indeed, the sinner is a Muslim, even if his sin is great, provided it does not reach the level of disbelief.
This is the position of the people of the Sunnah and the community: that major sins, no matter how great, if they do not reach the level that takes a person out of the religion, do not make the person a disbeliever. Then, if he dies after having repented from them, Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents, as the Exalted said:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
[Az-Zumar 39:53]
And if he dies before repenting, he falls under the saying of the Exalted:
Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَغْفِرُ أن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ
[An-Nisa 4:48]
He is under the will of Allah; if Allah wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. She has another question, O honorable Shaykh. The listener is Umm Nizar.
