(The Comparison Between the Khawarij and the Deniers of the Divine Attributes) So listen now to the words of the Khawarij, then the words of our opponents, and judge without bias: Who is one of us if they are their like? If you are one of knowledge and understanding.

The Shaykh :"So listen now to the words of the Khawarij, then the words of our opponents, and judge without bias
Who is one of us if they are their like? If you are one of knowledge and understanding"

Then the author began with the comparison between the Khawarij and the people of denial of the divine attributes. Are they more deserving of being likened to the Khawarij, or is it the other way around? He says:
"The Khawarij said to the Messenger: 'Be just,' but you were not just, nor was the One who divides the scales"
This is one of the characteristics of whom? The Khawarij.
"And likewise, the Jahmi said the same, but he has increased in transgression.
He said the truth is that He 'assumed control' (istawla), but I said 'He rose above' (istawa) and you deviated from clarification"

He says: The truth is
Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ
[Al-A'raf 7:54]
Then He assumed control over the Throne, and you, O Muhammad, said
Istawa (He rose) استوى
So why did you say "He rose above"? Therefore, he said the truth is that He "assumed control" (istawla), and why did you say "He rose above" (istawa) and deviate from the clarification of the Khawarij? What did they say? They said this division is wrong; the correct division is the one they want. He said "He rose above" (istawa) is wrong, and the truth is "He assumed control" (istawla).
