(Giving an example of how the people of innovation treat the Qur'an and its words) Like the elder of a people who came to testify before the one *** who holds the judgment, seeking to defend him with his tongue, saying: Your rank is above this

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Like the elder of a people"
Listen to the example
"Like the elder of a people who came to testify before the one *** who holds the judgment, seeking to defend him with his tongue
saying,"
the judge
"Your rank is above this, and the testimony *** of others is sufficient, so go in safety"
This is a great man, an elder, who came to testify before the judge, and the judge did not accept his testimony. He said to him: "My master, your rank with me is too high for you to come and testify. The testimony is for someone else. You are a great, respected, and honorable elder; you do not testify before me. The testimony is for someone else. But go, I have no consideration for you." These people have brought down the texts of the Book and the Sunnah in the same way. They said: "The Qur'an is honored and great with us, and the Sunnah is the same, but the testimony is for something else. For whom? For the intellects." This is a strange example, may Allah have mercy on him. It is rare for a person to notice such an example. Sometimes a person brings an example that is farthest from the mind in its conception. Among such things is the saying of the poet:
"I am afflicted with the ruin of the ruins, if I do not stand there *** as a miser stands, whose ring was lost in the dust"
Yes, I am afflicted with the ruin of the ruins. The ruins mean the demolished dwellings of his beloved
"if I do not stand there *** as a miser stands, whose ring was lost in the dust"
A miser, a stingy man, whose ring was lost in the dirt. When will he leave? He will never, never leave. Even if he reaches the seventh earth, he will not leave. He will keep searching for this ring.
In any case, I say that some people have a wide imagination. So, who imagines that these people placed the texts of the Book and the Sunnah in the position of this great elder, honored by the judge, who came to testify? He said to him: "By Allah, my master, you are a noble, great, and honorable man with us, and you are too great to testify before us." He said to him: "But go in safety, and we will seek the testimony from someone else." Yes, he says:
"Your rank is above this, and the testimony *** of others is sufficient, so go in safety
And he would have wished it were something other than this, *** but out of fear of the ruler. "

He would have liked the matter to be above that. It is possible that "he would have liked" refers to the judge who expelled this elder, or it refers to this distorter who distorted the texts of the Book and the Sunnah, that it would have been something other than this.
