Testimony to something the witness does not know

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of the fatwa numbered ( 7347 )
Q 4: If a person gives testimony that does not harm anyone, but rather benefits the person who needs the testimony, knowing that this witness did not witness the event himself, but testified based on the statement of a friend of his who is trustworthy and just, is his testimony valid or is it considered false testimony?
A 4: Testimony to something the witness does not know is forbidden; because it is false testimony and false speech, even if it is to benefit someone and without harming another. As for testimony by reporting from another person, its assessment is referred to the judge. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
