Beware of the sayings of those who split into sects*** and became the sects of Satan (Clarifying the statement of the Mu'attilah that the texts do not yield certainty, but rather reason is what yields it)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In this passage, the author (may Allah have mercy on him) clarifies the methodology of these Mu'attilah. They say: In summary, the texts of the Book and the Sunnah do not yield certainty, and it is reason that yields certainty. The agreed-upon principle is that when certainty and doubt conflict, certainty is preferred. Therefore, if the indication of the Book and the Sunnah conflicts with the indication of reason, it is obligatory to prefer the indication of reason, because the principle agreed upon by all sects is that when doubt and certainty conflict, certainty is preferred. Listen, he returned to the cause, he said:
"Beware of the sayings of those who split into sects*** and became the sects of Satan"
Beware of these sayings, because those who split into sects are not upon the truth, as evidenced by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything إن الذين فرقوا دينهم وكانوا شيعا لست منهم في شيء
[Al-An'am 6:159]
And since the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not among them in any way, they are not upon the truth.
