The Meaning of the Poet's Words: "And likewise the enemies of the Messenger and his Companions *** They are the Rafidah, the filthiest of living creatures. They declared enmity toward the Companions, then *** They called the Shi'ah of al-Rahman the Nawasib"

The Shaykh :"And likewise the enemies of the Messenger and his Companions *** They are the Rafidah, the filthiest of living creatures
They declared enmity toward the Companions"

The enemies of the Messenger and his Companions are the Rafidah. He says: "the filthiest of living creatures." This is like what al-Qahatani (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his *Nuniyyah*: "The Rafidah are worse than those who tread upon the pebbles". Those who tread upon the pebbles are the children of Adam, animals, and others; everything that treads upon the pebbles. So they are worse than those who tread upon the pebbles. Here he says: "They are the Rafidah, the filthiest of living creatures."
"They declared enmity toward the Companions, then *** They called the Shi'ah of al-Rahman the Nawasib"
May Allah grant us assistance. They declared enmity toward the Companions because they declare the Companions to be disbelievers, except for the Ahl al-Bayt and a small group of others. They declare Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, and the rest of the Companions to be disbelievers, except for the Ahl al-Bayt and a small group of others, such as Salman al-Farisi and the like. They call the people of hadith, and they call them the Shi'ah of al-Rahman, and they call them Nawasib. Why? He said: Because you love these Companions. And among the established principles with them is: whoever loves Abu Bakr and 'Umar has hated 'Ali. They lied, by the Lord of the Throne. Rather, we love 'Ali, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman, and this does not contradict that. Yes, but they say: whoever loves these, or loves the Companions, has declared enmity toward the Ahl al-Bayt.
