And it is He who brought forth the Khawarij, just as He brought forth the Rafidah, the filthiest of animals (The Origin of the Khawarij and the Rafidah, and an Explanation of the Disbelief of the Exaggerators among the Rafidah)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said:
"And it is He who brought forth the Khawarij, just as He brought forth the Rafidah, the filthiest of animals"
And to what does the pronoun "He" refer? It refers to ta'wil (figurative interpretation), which brought forth the Khawarij. The Khawarij are a misguided sect that declared disbelief against many of the Companions and deemed the blood of Muslims lawful without valid evidence, but rather due to what, may Allah protect us from it, they possessed of haste, arrogance, and self-reliance. They came to see that everyone other than themselves was a disbeliever. They declared disbelief based on open sinfulness and major sins, saying that whoever drinks a drop of intoxicants is a disbeliever who will remain in the Fire forever, and that he must be fought and his blood is lawful, may Allah protect us from it. This misguided sect is the most dangerous to the Muslim community.
Likewise, the Rafidah. The author, Ibn al-Qayyim, described them as the filthiest of animals. The Rafidah are also a misguided sect, a sect that commits shirk (associating partners with Allah), and this refers to the exaggerators among them. They claim to have imams who manage the universe, and that there is no atom in the universe that is not managed by the infallible imam in their view. They consider everyone other than their imams to be imams of misguidance. Their books are well known, and they are the most numerous of the people of innovation in the Muslim community, to the extent that people divided the Muslim community into two groups: the Sunnah and the Shi'ah, and the Shi'ah are the Rafidah.
