The Shaykh :" And the command and prohibition addressed to them *** are like commanding a slave to fly
And like commanding a blind man to dot the Qur'ans *** or to diacritize them out of fear of melodic recitation "

I seek refuge in Allah! When they are asked how they can say this, while Allah the Exalted addresses commands to the servants, saying "Do this, establish prayer, give zakah," yes, how can they say this? He said: This is a command like commanding a human slave who has no wings to fly. Addressing a command to fly to one who has no wings here? This is impossible. That is to say, if someone were to command a person who has no wings to fly, it would be said that this is madness and folly.
" And like commanding a blind man to dot the Qur'ans *** or to diacritize them out of fear of melodic recitation "
We gave a blind man a Qur'an written in letters and said, "Come, dot it." He dots it. And when he finishes the dotting, we say, "Diacritize it," and he is blind. Is this possible? It is not possible, except by the Braille method, but this is not the customary, known diacritization.
In any case, they say, and may Allah protect us from that, that the commands of Allah and the commands of His Messenger addressed to people are like the command to a slave who has no wings to fly, or the command to a blind man to dot the Qur'an and diacritize it.
