And for that reason, Muhammad turned away in the Sahih*** from it deliberately, not out of forgetfulness (Clarifying that al-Bukhari’s omission of the hadith is not due to a defect in it)

The Shaykh : Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) cited as evidence for what is in his heart regarding this report, saying:
“And for that reason, Muhammad turned away in the Sahih *** from it deliberately, not out of forgetfulness”
Muhammad is Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari. He is saying that this hadith is one in which Muslim has a unique narration, and al-Bukhari turned away from it. However, he did not turn away from it out of forgetfulness; rather, it appears that (may Allah have mercy on him) it did not meet his conditions, and therefore he turned away from it. The author (may Allah have mercy on him) made this a defect, but the truth is that this is not a defect, because the fact that al-Bukhari did not narrate the hadith while Muslim did not indicate that the hadith is weak. How many are the numerous hadiths from which al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) turned away, while others authenticated them?
