Commentary on the poet’s saying: And you cast the honey of the texts behind you *** and were content with the dropper of minds
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And you cast the honey of the texts behind you *** and were content with the dropper of minds"
The honey of the texts is that pure, abundant honey. You cast it behind you and took what? The dropper, the weak dropper contaminated with dirt, which is the dropper of minds.
"And you left the two revelations out of disdain for them *** and took pleasure in the opinion of every so-and-so"
Glory be to Allah! They left two things and took other things. Whatever opinion was mentioned to them, they followed it, the opinion of every so-and-so, each one, and they left the two revelations, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
"And you removed the two texts from what they were appointed to *** for judgment in it, removing one who commits aggression"
To whom do you return for judgment? To Allah and His Messenger[An-Nisa 4:59] If two men dispute over a matter of worldly affairs, they go to the judge, the court. If we dispute over something of the religion, we refer it to the Book and the Sunnah. These people, may Allah protect us from them, removed the two texts from what they were appointed to for judgment in it. Allah appointed the two texts to judge between people, but these people removed them, removing one who commits aggression.
"And you claimed that there is no judge between us *** except the minds and the logic of the Greeks
So they are more deserving of the truth than the two of them. "
Well, and you claimed.
The student : Shaykh, we have: And you feared.
The Shaykh : Yes?
The student : I have: And you feared, and you cast the honey of the texts
The Shaykh : I have behind you, behind you with the hamzah.
The student : Is it a mistake?
The Shaykh : Yes, it is a mistake.
Yes, Salim?
