(Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: {Then He drew near and descended, so He was the distance of two bows or closer}) And Allah is greater than one who ascended above the layers, His messenger, so he drew near to the Judge, and to Him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And Allah is greater than one who ascended above the layers *** His messenger, so he drew near to the Judge"
This also contains evidence of the elevation of Allah, O 'Adil, that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended to Allah and drew near to Him, referring to the saying of Allah the Exalted in Surat al-Najm, He says:
(5) Taught to him by one intense in strength - (6) One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form (7) While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. (8) Then he approached and descended (9) And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. علمه شديد القوى ذو مرة فاستوى وهو بالأفق الأعلى ثم دنا فتدلى فكان قاب قوسين أو أدنى
[An-Najm 53:5-9]
, and the correct view regarding the verse is that the phrase
Then he approached and descended ثم دنا فتدلى
[An-Najm 53:8]

"*** And he drew near to the Lord, the One of pure grace"
