The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "Then He drew near and hung low. So He was [at] the distance of two bows' length or less. So He revealed to His servant what He revealed."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
Then He drew near and hung low ثم دنى فتدلى
Who drew near? Jibril.
and hung low فتدلى
He descended,
(9) And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. (10) And he revealed to His Servant فكان قاب قوسين أو أدنى* فأوحى إلى عبده
[An-Najm 53:9-10]
meaning to the servant of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
what He revealed ما أوحى
And His saying:
revealed أوحى
what He revealed ما أوحى
Here, the form of ambiguity is used to magnify its status, just as Allah the Exalted said:
and there covered them from the sea that which covered them, فغشيهم من اليمّ ما غشيهم
[Taha 20:78]
to magnify and emphasize it. Here He says:
So He revealed to His servant what He revealed فأوحى إلى عبده ما أوحى
