Reading from the words of the poet: A chapter on holding a funeral for those who lagged behind the company of the predecessors (these verses were not read and not explained) By Allah, what is the excuse

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The sun, from their beauty and their beauty and their light, is brought to the impotent. The impotent is the one who cannot have intercourse. He says: " *** What is the device of the impotent in intercourse "
And so...
The student: What is his device?

The Shaykh : He has no device.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : To him? To them, is it connected?
The student: ... the impotent ...

The Shaykh : Except that it is found
The student: No, they do not have it

The Shaykh : ... all of it, I have: " The sun for the impotent is brought to him *** "
The student: ...

The Shaykh : It is not necessary to put it in; the verse does not make sense without it.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : How?
The student: " The sun is brought to him, what is the device of the impotent "

The Shaykh : No, we do not omit this; it is incomplete, the verse we have.
" The sun for the impotent is brought to him, what *** is the device of the impotent in intercourse "
Yes
The reader: " The sun for the impotent is brought to him, what *** is the device of the impotent in intercourse
O commodity of the Most Merciful, you are not cheap *** but you are expensive for the lazy one"

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar.
The reader: " O commodity of the Most Merciful, it is not attained *** in a thousand except by one, not two
O commodity of the Most Merciful, what is its match *** except the people of piety with faith
O commodity of the Most Merciful, your market is stagnant *** among the scoundrels, the lowest of animals
O commodity of the Most Merciful, where is the buyer *** for you have been offered at the lowest of prices
O commodity of the Most Merciful, is there a suitor *** for the dowry before death is possible
O commodity of the Most Merciful, how do the suitors *** endure you, and they are people of faith
O commodity of the Most Merciful, were it not that *** it is veiled by all the hardships of man
No one would ever have lagged behind it *** and the house of the second reward was abandoned "

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar, all these meanings are clear, but he pointed to a very great meaning, which is that Paradise is surrounded by hardships. Why? He says, were it not for this, there would be no people for the Fire. There would be no people for the Fire, meaning if Paradise were surrounded by desires like the Fire, no one would remain for the Fire. So Paradise is surrounded by hardships so that it is not attained except by one who endures these hardships
So do not plunge into the steep path فلا قتحم العقبة
and so on. Therefore, you find the believer enduring things, while he does easy things. He endures himself, he is patient with the ablution in the hardships, with coming to the mosques, he is patient with what he receives of harm from people, he is patient with what he receives of fatigue in worship, sometimes. Yes, you find him enduring, patient with restraining himself from his desires. The matter is not easy. And so Paradise is surrounded by hardships, but as Ibn al-Qayyim said many times, it is only an hour, an hour, and then it passes. All the life that passed before this hour of ours is like an hour, as if we did not live in it. So the matter is a few days, then departure, and the time of work ends to the time of reward. But be patient, be patient until you attain what the patient attain
Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account." إنما يوفى الصابرون أجرهم بغير حساب
[Az-Zumar 39:10]
. And this is a clear matter. Look at your fathers, look at your brothers who are older than you, look at your peers, look at those who are younger than you. They all departed from this world as if they were not created in it.
" While man is seen in it, informing *** until he is seen as a news among the news "
And it is only an hour, and then these hardships pass. Be patient with them, be patient with restraining yourself from your desires, be patient with the obligations that Allah has commanded you, be patient with the calamities that befall you from yourself or from Allah the Exalted or from people. Be patient until you attain the house of rest. We ask Allah to write for us and for you this house.
The student: Amen.

The Shaykh : O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad. Yes.
