And because of this status of his, and because of people’s speech about him, sometimes with truth and sometimes with falsehood arising from ignorance or fanaticism

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :“And because of this status of his, and because of people’s speech about him, sometimes with truth and sometimes with falsehood arising from ignorance or fanaticism, I wanted to write about him whatever rules I was able to, hoping that Allah the Exalted will make my work pure for His face, in accordance with His pleasure, and beneficial for His servants” Because of his status in the religion, and because of people’s speech about him, sometimes with truth and sometimes with falsehood. There is no problem with the truth, but regarding the falsehood, he says it arises from ignorance or fanaticism.
Speaking with falsehood, my brothers, comes down to two things: either ignorance, what is it? Or fanaticism. Fanaticism for yourself, or fanaticism for your imam, or fanaticism for your shaykh, or something similar to this. It is clear that this is what leads a person to speak with falsehood. And listen to the saying of Allah Mighty and Majestic:
Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided." إِنَّا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا عَلَى أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ مُهْتَدُونَ
[Az-Zukhruf 43:22]
This is fanaticism. “I wanted to write about him whatever rules I was able to, hoping that Allah the Exalted will make my work pure for His face, in accordance with His pleasure, and beneficial for His servants” Pure for His face is this sincerity. In accordance with His pleasure is this following [of the Prophet]. Beneficial for His servants is the effect that follows the work.
