Was the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he always wore the ghutrah or something similar on his head, or did he sometimes wear it and sometimes leave it off?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : You mentioned, O our Shaykh, may Allah bless you, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sometimes covered his head with the ghutrah and sometimes with the taqiyah. And when we told you that he sometimes had his head uncovered, you said, "No, no, I do not say that."

The Shaykh : That is, I do not say that, because you are saying that, for example, he sometimes wore the qalansuwah, sometimes the 'imamah, and sometimes he walked with his head uncovered. No, that does not exist. All that came in Sahih Muslim is that the Messenger (peace be upon him) was informed of news and he went out quickly with his head uncovered. But that is an incident; it is not said that he was [always like that]. It is not said that he was.

The questioner : So, does that mean we can say that those who go out with their heads uncovered have a dislike (makruh) upon them?

The Shaykh : Of course, this is contrary to the transmitted guidance from the Khalaf to the Salaf, and it is also the custom of the disbelievers.
