Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"The First Principle: The names of Allah the Exalted are all beautiful: meaning they reach the highest degree of beauty. Allah the Exalted said:
And to Allah belong the best names وَلِلَّهِ الأسماء الْحُسْنَى
[Al-A'raf 7:180]
"
It is mentioned in the Qur'an in three places:
Allah the Exalted said:
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them ولله الأسماء الحسنى فادعوه بها
[Al-A'raf 7:180]
This is in Surat al-A'raf. Yes.
And Allah the Exalted said:
Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. الله لا إله إلا هو له الأسماء الحسنى
[Taha 20:8]
Yes, in Surat Ta-Ha.
And He the Exalted said:
to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens له الأسماء الحسنى يسبح له ما في السماوات
[Al-Hashr 59:24]
This is in Surat al-Hashr.
And al-Hasani, as we told you, is the feminine form of ahsan, meaning it reaches the highest degree of beauty. Some people found difficulty with this word "highest degree" and said that the beauty of the names of Allah has no limit or end.
It is said: The meaning of "highest degree" here is that nothing is above it in beauty. That is the intended meaning. Otherwise, it is well known that the attributes of Allah the Exalted have no end and no limit, because no matter how much a person tries to confine them to a limit, he finds no way to do so.
