Discussion of the attribute of the Face of Allah.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: The Face of Allah?

The Shaykh : The Face of Allah the Exalted is used to refer to His Essence, while affirming the attribute of the Face, just as Allah the Exalted said:
Everything will be destroyed except His Face كل شيء هالك إلا وجهه
[Al-Qasas 28:88]
Does this mean that the Lord destroys everything except His Face? It does not mean that only He remains. And Allah Mighty and Majestic said:
(26) Everyone upon the earth will perish, (27) And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. كل من عليها فان ويبقى وجه ربك ذو الجلال والإكرام
[Ar-Rahman 55:26-27]
The meaning is not that only the Face remains; the meaning is that Allah Mighty and Majestic remains. In the Arabic language, the Face is expressed by the Essence.
The student: ... O Face of Allah?

The Shaykh : Yes, if he intends "O Face of Allah" to mean "O Allah," there is nothing wrong with it. But if he intends only the Face, that is not permissible. The time is up. Now, let us continue.
