Among the wisdom in da'wah is that when one forbids someone from something, he should mention to them an alternative from what Allah has made lawful.

The Shaykh : And in light of the context of this verse, I would like to remind you that if a person forbids people from something that they are in need of, he must mention to them an alternative from what Allah has made lawful. Why? Because if he blocks the door on them, they will inevitably break it down if they find no way out. But if they find a way out, they will have no excuse. For this reason, He said:
say not [to Allah 's Messenger], "Ra'ina" but say, "Unthurna" لَا تَقُولُوا رَاعِنَا وَقُولُوا انْظُرْنَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:104]
.
And among this is also the statement of Lut to his people:
(165) Do you approach males among the worlds (166) And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:165-166]
. This indicates that he pointed them to something lawful and forbade them from something forbidden.
And among this is the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the man said to him:
'Whatever Allah wills and you will.' He said, 'You have put an equal with Allah. It is what Allah alone wills.' ما شاء الله وشئت قال : أجعلتني لله ندا بل ما شاء الله وحده
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 783
.
And among this is the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) when they presented to him good dates. He asked, "Where did this come from?" They said:
"O Messenger of Allah, we take one sa' of this for two sa's, and two sa's for three." He said: "This is the very essence of riba. But sell the bad ones for dirhams and buy the good ones with dirhams." يا رسول الله نأخذ الصاع من هذا بالصاعين والصاعين بالثلاثة قال : هذا عين الربا ولكن بيعوا الرديء بالدراهم واشتروا بالدراهم طيبا
. This is the meaning of the hadith. The important point is that you, if Allah wills, are callers to Allah. If you mention the prohibition of something that people need, you must mention to them the lawful alternative. Do not block the path for people. If you block the path, what will happen? They will break down the door and climb over the wall. Yes.
And He the Exalted said:
Among the Jews are those who distort words from their [proper] usages and say, "We hear and disobey" ومن الذين هادوا يحرفون الكلم عن مواضعه ويقولون سمعنا وعصينا
[An-Nisa 4:46]
. We ask Allah for well-being.
