The People of Innovation Rejecting the Hadiths of the Attributes on the Ground That They Are Reports from a Single Narrator

The Shaykh : And they said, "Everything established from the attributes by a report from a single narrator is rejected, and belief is not established by a report from a single narrator." As for the Qur'an, they cannot say this. What is their path in it? Distortion. They cannot deny it, for it is established by mass transmission, which is the highest form of transmission. Now, if reason does not necessitate affirming this attribute or denying it, and it is present in the Qur'an, what do they say? They divided into two groups: some said, "We deny it, because reason must indicate it, and whatever reason does not indicate is rejected." And some said, "We suspend judgment on it." And this is boldness, may Allah protect us from it, a great boldness. This is established by the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and you say, "We suspend judgment on it," even though the obligatory thing is to accept it. Now, "So their path is indeed disbelief, if they find a way to it". And when do they find a way to it in the Book or in the Sunnah? In the Sunnah. And for this reason, they rejected reports from a single narrator in matters of belief. If they did not find a way like the Qur'an or the mass-transmitted Sunnah, they distorted them, meaning they could not reject them. And what is next for you?
