Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Abu Usamah informed us, saying: 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from 'A'ishah, and from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: H. And Yusuf ibn 'Isa al-Marwazi narrated to me, saying: al-Fadl ibn Musa narrated to us, saying: 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Umar narrated to us from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from 'A'ishah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Bilal pronounces the Adhan at night, so eat and drink (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum pronounces the Adhan." إن بلالًا يؤذن بليل فكلوا واشربوا حتى يؤذن ابن أم مكتوم
Sahih al-Bukhari 622, 623
.

The Shaykh : And on this basis, the adhan before the dawn is permissible for this reason, to wake the sleeper and return the one who is standing. But does it suffice for the adhan of Fajr if one relies on it alone? The answer is no, it does not suffice. Rather, it is obligatory to have a mu'adhdhin who gives the adhan after the appearance of the dawn. The evidence for this is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to Malik ibn Huwayrith:
when the time for prayer comes, one amongst you should announce Adhan إذا حضرت الصلاة فليؤذن لكم أحدكم
Sahih Muslim 674a
. When the prayer is present, and the prayer is not present except with the entry of its time. And on this basis, it is said that the adhan before the time does not suffice, neither in Fajr nor in any other prayer, contrary to those among the scholars who claimed that the adhan before the dawn suffices for Fajr. For this, there is no basis. Yes.
