Explanation of the Book of the Adhan-04a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: It was narrated to us by Iyash ibn al-Walid, who said: It was narrated to us by 'Abd al-A'la, who said: It was narrated to us by Humayd, who said: I asked Thabit al-Bunani about a man who speaks after the prayer has been established. He told me about Anas ibn Malik, who said: The prayer was established, and a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he detained him after the prayer had been established. And al-Hasan said: If his mother prevented him from the 'Isha' prayer.

The Shaykh : It appears that this is an addition. Is this addition present in your copies?
The student: No.

The Shaykh : No, this is an addition. It is in my copy, but it appears in the next chapter with its full text. This hadith is like the first one; it is the same as the first hadith, because the one who narrated it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is Anas. It contains the good character of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as he stood for this man and conversed with him until the people fell asleep. We ask Allah to grant us and you the ability to follow him.
The students: Amen.

The Shaykh : As for us, when we enter the mosque, no one speaks to us. Yes, because we know that if one person spoke, a second would come and speak, and a third would come and speak, and the people in the rows would be turning their heads. Yes, why are you detaining him? Let him come and pray with us. We ask Allah to forgive us. It is also said that perhaps this situation did not occur to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) except once in a lifetime. But if we open the door and say, for example, that people ask us until the mu'adhdhin establishes the prayer, and we detain people, it would be a hardship. And if we did this, it would happen every day. So we ask Allah the Exalted for forgiveness and mercy. Yes.
