Explanation of the Book on Ablution, the Full Ritual Bath, Menstruation, and Dry Ablution-06b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn Yusuf narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us from Amr ibn Amir, who said: I heard Anas. And Musaddad narrated to us, saying: Yahya narrated to us from Sufyan, who said: Amr ibn Amir narrated to me from Anas, who said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform wudu' for every prayer. I asked: How did you do it? He said: One wudu' sufficed for any of us as long as he did not break his state of purity. كان النبي صلّى الله عليه وسلم يتوضأ عند كل صلاة ، قلت : كيف كنتم تصنعون ؟، قال : يجزئ أحدنا الوضوء ما لم يحدث
.

The Shaykh : The point of this hadith is the statement:
The Prophet would perform Wudu for every Salat. كان النبي صلّى الله عليه وسلم يتوضأ عند كل صلاة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 60Sahih (Darussalam)
, and he did not say "if he breaks his state of purity," which indicates that it is a recommended practice (sunnah) for a person to perform wudu' for every prayer, even if he has not broken his state of purity. But is this obligatory?
The answer is no, it is not obligatory, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Allaah, the Exalted, does not accept the prayer of any of you when you are defiled until you performed ablution. لا يقبل الله صلاة أحدكم إذا أحدث حتى يتوضأ
Sunan Abi Dawud 60Sahih (Al-Albani)
, and its implication is that if he has not broken his state of purity, even if he is in a previous state of purity, his prayer is accepted.
Accordingly, the statement of Allah the Exalted:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا قمتم إلى الصلاة فاغسلوا
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
includes an omitted but understood element, which is the state of ritual impurity (hadath), meaning: if you rise to prayer while in a state of ritual impurity, then wash your faces...
The truth is that we have passed over the wiping of the turban without discussing it. The turban is wiped over, but this is specific to men. As for women, they do not wipe over turbans, nor is it permissible for them to wear turbans, because that falls under the category of imitating men. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the women who imitate men.
Here we raise a question: What about women's trousers?
