On fighting in a fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) among Muslims: Is the one who dies a martyr?

The questioner : Shaykh, sometimes fitnahs (trial, discord or temptation) break out among Muslims, and each faction fights, claiming that they are a mujahid and striving in the path of Allah. Now, is the one who dies in this fighting a martyr, or how is it?
