Is it permissible for one who separates from his imam due to his prolongation of the prayer to shorten the prayer and then leave?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for him to pray a short prayer, then say the taslim and leave?

The Shaykh : He prays a short prayer, then, who is the one who leaves?

The questioner : The ma'mum (one praying behind the imam).

The Shaykh : You mean that when the imam prolonged the prayer, he separated and completed a short prayer. Is this your question? There is no harm. This ma'mum who left because of the imam's prolongation has two options: either he cuts off the prayer and starts over from the beginning, or he continues but makes up the missed parts by shortening them. Three, yes.
