Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If gasoline or the smell of gasoline enters my throat and reaches my stomach unintentionally, does that break my fast, given that I did not do it intentionally, but rather I was trying to water the farm? I ask for your guidance on this?

The Shaykh : If gasoline, water, or anything else enters the stomach of a fasting person unintentionally.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : In that case, it does not break his fast, because among the conditions for breaking the fast with things that break it are that the actor must be knowledgeable, mindful, and intentional. The opposite of knowledge is ignorance, the opposite of mindfulness is forgetfulness, and the opposite of intention is lack of intention. Therefore, if a person eats or drinks thinking that the dawn has not yet appeared, and then it turns out that it has, he owes nothing and his fast is valid. If he eats or drinks while fasting while forgetting, his fast is valid. If water or anything else enters his stomach unintentionally, his fast is valid.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh.
