The reciter: Ubayd Allah ibn 'Umar al-Qawariri narrated to us, Khalid ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Ubayd Allah ibn 'Umar narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said:
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to deliver the Khutba while standing and then he would sit, then stand again as you do now-a-days. كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب قائمًا ثم يقعد ثم يقوم كما تفعلون الآن
