The Imam During the Sermon: A Fire Breaks Out in a Neighboring House, and He Asks the People to Go Out to Extinguish It; When He Returns, Does He Repeat the Sermon or Pray?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah bless you. The Imam was in the middle of the sermon when a fire broke out in a neighboring house, so he asked the people to go out to extinguish the fire. When he returns, does he repeat the sermon, or does he pray with them, even though the people’s hearts may have been distracted from him?

The Shaykh : This depends on what is in the public interest. The interest may be that he starts from where he stopped, or the interest may be that he repeats it.

The questioner : Is it possible for him to pray without mentioning the two sermons?

The Shaykh : In any case, if he performs the pillars that the scholars mentioned as pillars, that is sufficient. Suppose it happened during the last sermon. But if it was during the first sermon, he must have another sermon.
