Is this not a refutation of those who insist on the night prayer or the witr being eleven rak'ahs and do not pray behind imams who pray more than that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is this not a refutation of, I mean, those who insist on the night prayer or the witr being eleven rak'ahs and do not pray behind imams who pray more than that?

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly. As we said, this does not set a limit for the night prayer. The night prayer depends on your energy. As for Aisha's statement when she was asked how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray in Ramadan, she said: "He did not exceed eleven rak'ahs in Ramadan or otherwise". It is asked: Did he prohibit that? There is no prohibition in it. If he did not prohibit it, the matter is left to the individual. Then, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not exceed eleven rak'ahs, but how was his prayer? It was very long; his feet would crack from standing.
