Benefits of the Hadith of Istisqa' on Friday.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : There are benefits in this, among them the permissibility of addressing the khatib if there is a benefit in doing so: because this man stood up and asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and spoke to him while he was delivering the sermon, but for a general benefit for the general public.
Among them is that the default is to accept the report of one who is not known for open sinfulness, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted the statement of this man and acted upon it.
Among them is the repetition of supplication three times, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated that three times.
Among them is raising the hands in the Friday sermon, but this is specific to the prayer for rain and the prayer for the eclipse, and as for anything else, it is not done. So if the khatib supplicates for the Muslims or supplicates for things other than rain, he does not raise his hands, but if he seeks rain, he raises his hands, and if he seeks relief from the eclipse, he likewise raises his hands.
In it is a sign of the signs of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), in that He (Glorified and Exalted is He) caused this cloud to form and rained before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) descended from the pulpit.
In it is also the affirmation of causes, because Allah is able to send down rain without clouds, but He (Glorified and Exalted is He) has linked the effects to their causes, so He caused this cloud to form until it rained.
Among them is the permissibility of swearing without being asked to swear in important matters, because Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) swore several times because this was an important matter.
Among them is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not possess anything of the matter, otherwise he would have said: "O sky, rain," but he does not possess that. Allah the Exalted said to him:
Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision ليس لك من الأمر شيء
[Ali 'Imran 3:128]
So he (peace and blessings be upon him) does not possess the ability to relieve anyone except if he is alive and relieves him with what he is able to do, and he does not possess the ability to command the sky to rain, or to command the earth to grow.
As for what came regarding the Dajjal that he commands the sky to rain and the earth to grow, this is from the category of trial and testing.
Among the benefits of this hadith is also that exaggeration in speech is permissible, because the statement of this man, "the wealth has perished and the paths have been cut off," is the same one he said during the drought, and it is known that if the wealth had perished and the paths had been cut off due to the drought, they would not have perished due to the rain, but this is from the category of exaggeration, or it can be said: that his mention of wealth and paths is from the category of intending the specific with the general term.
Among them is the goodness, or what is expressed as eloquence, of the wise style, because this man said: "Call upon Allah to hold it back," but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not ask Allah to hold it back, rather he asked Allah to divert it to these places where there would be benefit without harm.
I do not have ... but in front of me is a chapter on what came regarding the witr, and we read some of it.
