If one improves his deeds to draw near to Allah the Exalted, while being mindful of people looking at him for the sake of teaching them, is this showing off? With an explanation of the great responsibility of scholars and students of knowledge

The Shaykh : Now, if someone says, "I perform the deed and improve it so that people see me and follow my example," what do you say? Is this showing off, or is it calling to Allah? O my brothers, this is a man who says, "I improve the deed for Allah the Mighty and Sublime, but I like for people to see it so that they follow my example, because I am walking in accordance with the Sunnah." So do we say this is a hypocrite whose deed is not accepted, or do we say this is a caller to Allah? Look at the second one: how the intention is affected. Look at the second one. Therefore, when the minbar was made for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), he began to pray on the minbar. The minbar has steps that the preacher climbs. So the one in front of him would stand and bow, and when he wanted to prostrate, he would go down to the ground and prostrate. He said: This is one .
Likewise, when the people crowded him in the Sa'i, he rode on a camel. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: So, praise be to Allah. If a person is an example for people, meaning he is a scholar, a scholar trusted by people, and he prays a prayer in which he is at peace, but not so that people see him, rather so that he draws near to them by their seeing him, but so that they learn from him, then this is not showing off. Rather, this is what? It is calling to Allah. Because calling to Allah is done by speech and by action. And therefore, how great is the responsibility of the scholars. The scholars have a great responsibility because people see them as what? As imams to be followed. So if a scholar neglects something of the Shari'ah, his harm is not only to himself, but to himself and to others. If we consider that a scholar is lenient in raising his hands—raising the hands at the takbir, at the ruku', at rising from it, and at standing for the first tashahhud—these are four places. This is a Sunnah, but this Sunnah may be obligatory for the scholar. Obligatory. Why? Because the scholar is an example. So if people see him not raising his hands, they will leave this Sunnah.
I say that the responsibility of scholars is great, those whom people follow. So I urge my brothers the scholars, or even students of knowledge below the high level of scholarship, I urge them to strive to apply the Sunnah as much as they can[Al-Ma'un 107:6].
I only did this so that you may follow me
